2018 Marching Band Accomplishments

The band competed in their 37th OMEA State Marching Band Finals on this past Saturday at 5:45 p.m. in Hilliard Bradley Stadium. The marching Scotties received four ratings of “Excellent” and six ratings of “Superior” for an overall “Excellent” rating at State Finals.
The band has had a very successful season leading up to this year’s state finals.
The band has achieved the following in the 2018 marching season:
At Lancaster
- Second place in Class A
- First place in Class A Auxiliary
- Second Overall Auxiliary out of 16 bands
- Third Overall Band out of 16 bands
At the University of Akron
- Second place in Class A
- Second in Auxiliary in Class A
- Second Overall in Auxiliary
At Revere
- First place in Class A
- First in Auxiliary
- First in Percussion
- Second Overall in Auxiliary
- Fourth Overall Band
At Maysville
- First place in Class A
- First in Auxiliary
- Second in Percussion
- Overall General Effect Award
- Reserve Grand Champions at Maysville
Overall
- Received straight Superiors at 2 contests
- Received a rating of Superior qualifying them for their 37th OMEA State Marching Band Finals 4 times
- 1 out of 125 bands to qualify and participate in OMEA State Marching Finals
- 1 out of 33 class A bands to qualify to attend OMEA State Finals
